Spicy Hungarian Goulash

Difficulty: medium

Preparation time: 2 hours

Ingredients:

  • 500 g of beef for goulash
  • 1 tablespoon of Hungarian seasoning
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped into pieces
  • 500 ml of beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons of sweet paprika
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions:

  1. Season the meat with salt, pepper, and coat in Hungarian seasoning.
  2. In a pan with oil, fry the onion until golden, add garlic, bell pepper, and after a moment, the meat.
  3. Sprinkle with sweet paprika and add tomatoes.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and simmer under a lid on a medium heat for about 1.5 hours, until the meat is tender.
  5. Serve with dumplings or bread.

Hungarian Spiced Chicken Wings

Difficulty: easy

Preparation time: 1 hour + marinating

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg of chicken wings
  • 1 tablespoon of Hungarian seasoning
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • Juice from 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions:

  1. Clean the wings, season with salt, pepper, and thoroughly rub with Hungarian seasoning.
  2. In a bowl, mix olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, honey, and lemon juice, and marinate the wings in it for at least 30 minutes, preferably overnight.
  3. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 45 minutes until the wings are crispy and golden.
  4. During baking, occasionally baste the wings with the remaining marinade.
  5. Serve with a fresh salad or as a snack with beer.
